Babee Terms of Service · Pilot version · 12 October 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
1.1 Babee is a messaging app for children under 13 (calls are planned for later), run by Capitan Ltd. (קפיטן בע"מ), company no. 515184711, Israel ("Babee", "we"). It has two apps: Babee (for children) and Parent Babee (for parents and guardians).
1.2 These terms are an agreement between Babee and you, the parent or legal guardian who opens the account ("you"). You accept them by ticking the box when you sign up.
1.3 Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and why. It is part of these terms.
1.4 These terms are in Hebrew and English. Both have equal weight. If they differ, the meaning more favourable to you applies.
2. The pilot
2.1 Babee is in a pilot: a test version for invited families only. It's free (§8).
2.2 What the pilot includes: the pilot apps run on Android phones (Google Play testing) and iPhones (Apple's TestFlight). They include text messages, built-in stickers, quick replies and reactions; voice messages in family chats and between children (with a classmate, a sibling, or a friend from outside the class whom both parents approved; in a class group chat only once it is switched on, up to 30 seconds); friends from outside the class, connected only when a parent of each child approves; and "is typing" and "here now" signs. Notifications show the sender's first name and the start of a message (see the Privacy Policy). The pilot doesn't include photos or videos between children, calls of any kind, or custom stickers; photos in family chats come once they are added. We'll update these terms before adding any of them.
2.3 A test version can have problems. Some things may not work perfectly, and features may change. The message checks described in §4 apply to everything the pilot offers.
2.4 If the pilot ends without a full launch, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your child's information.
3. Who can use Babee
3.1 You must be 18 or older, and the parent or legal guardian of every child you add. In the pilot, only parents whose phone number is on the pilot list can sign up; an identity check (ID and a selfie, through a verification partner) will be added before Babee opens to more families. We confirm you're the child's parent before the child can join a class.
3.2 Children can't sign up by themselves. Only you can create a child's account, in Parent Babee. Babee is for children under 13.
3.3 Other guardian. If your child has another parent or guardian, you confirm that they know about Babee and don't object. (You can invite them as a guardian in Parent Babee, and they can also object at any time.) If the other guardian objects, we may freeze the child's account until you both agree or a court decides.
3.4 You may add up to 6 children. More, or children at several schools, may need extra checks.
3.5 Babee is offered in Israel.
3.6 You must give true information. Giving false information about your identity or guardianship, or opening an account to reach other people's children, is forbidden, ends your account at once, and may be reported to the police.
3.7 Keep your phone and your Parent Babee account to yourself. Don't let children use Parent Babee. You are responsible for the messages and approvals sent from your account. If your phone is lost or someone else used your account, write to [email protected] and we'll end the sign-in.
4. How Babee works, and what it doesn't promise
4.1 Messages are checked before delivery. Messages a child sends are checked by automated systems before anyone else sees them. When the system isn't sure, the sender's parent decides. Content that may be dangerous goes to a person at Babee instead, never to parents.
4.2 What isn't checked in advance:
- Calls are live. We can't check them before they happen. We limit who can call and when, and you set those limits. Calls are not recorded.
- Built-in stickers, fixed reactions and quick replies are approved in advance and sent instantly.
- Chats with parents and family get a lighter check.
4.3 No system is perfect. Automated checks can miss things, or stop things that were fine. We work to keep mistakes rare and fix them quickly, but we don't promise that nothing harmful will ever get through. Voice messages are checked by turning speech into text, so the tone and other sounds aren't checked. Please talk with your child about staying safe. Your child can press and hold a message to Tell Babee, block a contact, and open Talk to someone in Me.
4.4 Not end-to-end encrypted. To check messages, Babee's servers must be able to read them. Messages are encrypted in transit and in storage, and are stored and checked on Babee's servers in Israel. Connections between the apps and our servers pass through Cloudflare, a network security provider, which can process them in transit, including outside Israel (see the Privacy Policy).
4.5 Reports to the authorities. If we suspect a child is in danger, or a crime involving a child, we may keep the content and report it to the Israel Police, the national child online protection unit (105) or other authorities, as the law allows or requires. We may not be able to tell you first.
4.6 Babee is not an emergency service. In an emergency call 100 (police) or 101 (ambulance). For online harm to children you can also call 105.
5. Communities, contacts and admins
5.1 Children talk only inside communities you approve, such as Family and Class, and with friends from outside the class when a parent of each child approves the connection. A community admin (for example a parent from the class committee) approves who joins a class. Either parent can end an outside-the-class connection at any time.
5.2 Admins agree to approve only people they know belong in the community, and to follow Babee's admin guidelines. An admin is not Babee's employee or agent, and Babee may remove an admin.
5.3 Children can't add or remove people from class groups. Membership follows the community.
6. Babee rules (for children and everyone)
These rules apply to everyone on Babee. The children's app shows them in simple words: be kind, keep private things private, no mean or scary stuff, tell someone if something feels wrong.
You and your child must not use Babee to:
- bully, threaten, exclude on purpose or embarrass anyone;
- send sexual content, or ask anyone for photos of themselves or their body;
- share anyone's address, phone number, school or location, or photos of other people without their permission;
- insult anyone because of who they are, including their religion, origin, nationality, skin colour, disability, gender or sexual orientation. (Saying who you are, or who your family is, is always fine: "my two moms", "my cousin is gay".)
- pretend to be someone else;
- send content about hurting oneself or others, weapons, drugs or alcohol;
- break the law, or try to get around Babee's checks.
When content breaks the rules, it isn't delivered, and the child sees a friendly explanation and a way to try again. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to stricter checks, limits, or suspending the account. Suspected crimes are handled under §4.5.
7. Content
7.1 Your child's content stays theirs. You give Babee, for your child, a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, process, check and deliver content only to the people it's sent to, and only to run and protect the service. It ends when the content is deleted, except where §4.5 or the law requires keeping it.
7.2 We don't use your child's content for ads or to train AI models.
7.3 We may remove content or stickers that are reported or break the rules.
7.4 Don't upload content that belongs to someone else unless you're allowed to.
7.5 Babee's apps, design, built-in stickers, name and logo are owned by or licensed to Capitan Ltd. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the apps under these terms.
8. Price
8.1 During the pilot, Babee is free.
8.2 Nothing can be bought in the children's app, and it never asks your child to ask you to buy anything.
8.3 Before any paid plan, we'll publish new terms, give you at least 30 days' notice, and charge nothing without your agreement.
9. Privacy and your child's information
9.1 Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it (content is stored and checked in Israel, and passes through Cloudflare in transit), how long we keep it, and your rights. By accepting these terms and the consent screens, you consent as your child's guardian to that processing.
9.2 You can see, export and delete your child's information from Parent Babee.
10. Suspension and closing an account
10.1 You can close a child's account or your own account at any time in Parent Babee. The Privacy Policy explains what's deleted and when.
10.2 We can suspend or close an account if: these terms are broken seriously or repeatedly; we reasonably suspect a risk to a child; the identity or guardianship checks fail or turn out to be false; or the law requires it. Where it's safe and lawful, we'll tell you why and let you respond.
11. Changes
11.1 We may change these terms because of changes in the law, in Babee's features, or for safety. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of material changes, in Parent Babee and by email, unless a change is needed urgently for safety or by law. If you don't agree, you can close the account before the change takes effect.
11.2 New kinds of features for children are turned on for your child only after you agree to them.
11.3 When your child turns 13: Babee is for children under 13. We'll contact you at least 60 days before your child's 13th birthday to explain the options. If none suits you, we'll close your child's account after the birthday, and you'll be able to export their information first.
12. Responsibility
12.1 Babee is provided with reasonable skill and care. We aren't responsible for content other users create and send, or for things outside our reasonable control (for example outages of phone networks or app stores), except where we were negligent or the law makes us responsible.
12.2 Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
13. Questions and disputes
13.1 Contact us first at [email protected] or through Help in the app. We aim to answer within 3 business days, and safety reports much faster.
13.2 These terms are governed by Israeli law. Disputes go to the competent courts in Israel.
